The 2012 CSXTHS rail fanning weekend was held in the Greater Cincinnati OH areas on August 3 - 5, 2012. The rail fanning activities were based out of the Holiday Inn, Covington KY (just across the river from Cincinnati OH).

The 2012 CSXTHS rail fanning weekend was held in the Greater Cincinnati OH areas on August 3 - 5, 2012. The fanning adventures were based out of the Holiday Inn, Covington KY (just across the river from Cincinnati OH). Friday August 3 -- 12:30 pm railfan CSX in Covington - 2:00 pm visit Greater Cincinnati Railroad Museum; at 3:30 pm visit Progressive Rail facility DeCoursey Yard.

Saturday August 4 -- railfan ex L&N from Covington to Paris - 10:00 am visit to TTI YARD at Paris; follow TTI ex L&N to Maysville -- 1:00 pm visit TTI Ohio River coal loadout at Maysville -- follow C&O back to Covington -- that night visit Tower A at Cincinnati Union Terminal to watch rail action and see some slide presentations.

Sunday August 5 - 9:30 am railfan Carrolton Railroad Yard - then Small CSXT MoW yard at Glencoe - then Eagle Tunnel - then CSXT/NS railroad overlook - then CSXT Independence Trestle - and return to hotel.

Cincinnati saw service by the CSX fallen flag railroads, Chesapeake & Ohio, Baltimore & Ohio, Louisville & Nashville and New York Central. CSX remains a major player in the Cincinnati rail scene.
