CSX - Short Line SD and Brooklyn Jct - 1990

Rail Fan Adventure --

After following the AEPX coal train westbound across the former B&O Short Line SD from Clarksburg, Don Smith and went ahead to Brooklyn Jct. which is located in the community of New Martinsville.

1. Ex-B&O GP40 6511 parked at the engine terminal at Brooklyn Jct. on the south leg of the wye. The north leg to the Ohio River SD is behind the gray building. 09-20-1990. CSX Brooklyn Jct.

2. CSX 6843 detached as the lead unit of the AEPX coal train and pulled ahead of 6511 in the engine terminal. CSX Brooklyn Jct.

4. 6511 reverses direction off the wye and proceeds west (north) through the yard. GP30 4261 is on the Mobay District Switcher. CSX Brooklyn Jct.

5. The crew of 6511 must have gone into the modern yard office on the left. Don and I later headed on to Benwood Jct., and I was surprised to see two more shifters in chemical plants. There is a lot of industry on the Ohio River SD. CSX Brooklyn Jct.
